Cinema Tropical’s popular documentary film series comes to Symphony Space for the first time! The week-long series of 5 films—all premieres—treats fans  to a sampling of contemporary Brazilian musical styles,nBrazilian soul, samba, axé, and MPB, and features such legendary musicians as Tim Maia, Caetano Veloso, Ney Matogrosso, Daniela Mercury, Martinho da Vila, among many others

Pianist Max Barros performs works by composers from every phase of Brazilian music history, all of which respond in highly creative manner to the African heritage of Brazil. Featuring special guests, soprano
Angelica de la Riva and cellist Andrew Janss.

This concert presents a broad and varied selection of works by composers from every phase of Brazilian music history, all of whom respond in highly creative manner to the African heritage of Brazil. Brazilian Music Foundation will be presenting a series of concerts in partnership with local musicians with the intention to promote and advance Brazilian Music in New York City.
