2016 National Conference Travel and Hotel

Air Travel

While it is possible to fly directly to Santa Fe’s small municipal airport (SAF) via American Eagle Frontier, and United Express, most conference attendees will find it more convenient to fly into Albuquerque and transfer from there. The Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) is serviced by all of the major U.S. airlines.

Airport to Hotel Transportation

Between Albuquerque International Sunport and Santa Fe – Albuquerque is 64 miles from Santa Fe. Neither conference hotel provides shuttle service from Albuquerque and taxis are very expensive. If not renting a car, Sandia Shuttle and Roadrunner Shuttle are recommended. It is also possible to travel by rail, and the New Mexico Rail Runner Express carries passengers between Albuquerque and Santa Fe; however, there is no direct train from the Sunport. You must take a shuttle or taxi to the Albuquerque Train Station and catch the train north from there. A full list of ground transportation services may be found here.

Between Santa Fe Municipal Airport and the Conference Hotels – You will want to arrange your travel in advance, as this is a small airport. Roadrunner Shuttle costs between $16 and $21, depending on your arrival time. There are no taxi staging locations at this airport but you may can arrange a taxi by calling Capital City Cab (505-438-0000). You could also utilizeUber.

Hotel

Two hotels will serve as the official conference hotels for the 2016 program. Conference sessions will take place on both properties and they are conveniently located across the street from one another:

Eldorado

Eldorado Hotel & Spa
309 W. San Francisco St.
Santa Fe, NM 87501
Phone: (505) 988-4455

Hilton

Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza
100 Sandoval St
Santa Fe, NM 87501
Phone: (505) 988-2811

The discounted conference room rate for both hotels is $159 per night plus applicable state and local taxes (currently 15.3125%) for single or double occupancy. An extra person charge of $20 per night will apply for additional persons of 3 or more. This special conference rate will be offered 3 days prior to and 3 days following the conference, subject to availability at the time of reservation.

The deadline to reserve rooms at the conference rate is Thursday, September 15, 2016. CMS is holding a limited block of rooms, and these are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. CMS cannot guarantee rooms at the conference rate once the room block has been sold.

Please note: The conference rate has been negotiated in order to help the organization keep its overall conference expenses low, and is a substantial savings from the hotel’s regular room rates. CMS would like to remind attendees that rooms booked by any other means than those listed below do not contribute toward the fulfillment of CMS’ contracted room block with the hotel. If CMS fails to meet its room commitment, CMS could incur significant financial penalties and this would have a major impact on future programs.
