In this issue we present a tribute to João Gilberto, the creator of the new musical beat, bossa nova, that revolutionized Brazilian music over 60 years leaving it as a historical legacy of Brazilian national heritage. João Gilberto not only revolutionized Brazilian music but also world music, the effects of his new creation still echoes in every corner of the globe. For this reason, Bossa Magazine is presenting, in this issue, a tribute to João Gilberto with a history of his personal memories and professional achievements.

João Gilberto passed away last July 6th.  In this tribute we had the opportunity to interview four people who were lucky enough to share moments with João Gilberto, no less than his son, João Marcelo Oliveira Gilberto, Roberto Menescal (Guitarist / Singer / Composer), João Bosco (Guitarist / Singer / Composer), and Duduka da Fonseca (Drummer / Composer).
